Over the past two decades, governments have made a concerted effort to improve and enhance education among the female population of Ghana. Their objective is to encourage and increase their participation in economic growth. Today, women are building business at an extraordinary rate in Ghana’s capital Accra and beyond.
In Ghana, women make up approximately 51% of the overall population and their role in socio-economic development is fundamental. According to the Mastercard index of female entrepreneurship, Ghana is the leading African nation when it comes to female-run companies. Approximately 46% of the businesses in Ghana are owned and managed by women.

Pink Intrigue is a high-vibe content creation company with a mission to create purposeful content that speaks. The company was founded by Abena Damoah in 2007, she launched a Ghanaian branch of the business in 2016 in Accra where her aim was to provide job opportunities to young women. She founded the Big Chance initiative by Pink Intrigue in 2017 and so far, more than 100 girls have signed up to the program.
The company also offers a unique content subscription service which allows companies to work with professional content creators to build brand visibility at a low monthly cost.
